ABC News Good Morning America will run a story on Ice Racing, pitched and filmed by WIRC Collaborator and Racer KA 2, Peter Norton, of Rum Jungle Media, at 2008 Great Western Challenge Regatta, in Osakis MN on December 5,6 & 7. 

I'm told the story will run on ABC News, Good Morning America on Sunday March 1, and most likely also available on their website after the story airs.

The 2008 Great Western Challenge was the inaugural event in the 2009 Risdall Marketing Group World Ice Racing Circuit's 2009 North American Tour, and our simultaneous announcement of the Fire on Ice Event at the St Paul Winter Carnival.  Sailing Big Course Races, in Big Wind!, on the "Best Ice" in Minnesota, the event drew a record 75 Competing DNs, from four countries, plus ~ 10 Ice Opti's sailing their North American Championships.   

Bob "Smokestack" Rast generously let ABC's Producer, Dan drive the 1313 boat in 15, gusting 20 for his first ever sail in an IceBoat...  if I recall he mumbled something like "he'll be too damn scared to break anything today!"
